The American Islamic College is located in an attractive residential neighborhood at Lake Shore Drive and Irving Park Road in Chicago. The 3.3 acre campus consists of three buildings overlooking Lake Michigan. The main building is an architectural landmark that houses administrative offices, classrooms, a gymnasium and a 1000-seat auditorium. Other facilities of the College include a library, student dormitory, and a mosque.

 

Renovations at the AIC

Under the new administration established in 2010, the American Islamic College has seen numerous developments that have enhanced the campus. Unfortunately, this historical landmark building was not well maintained. Due to the great efforts of the new administration, the AIC has a fully functional student dormitory building, an auditorium, and renovated classrooms and parking lots.
The dormitory building is now completely renovated with 57 double-occupancy bedrooms, 3 suite rooms with a capacity ranging from 3 to 8 students. Its cafeteria has been refurbished and furnished with a projector, screen, and sound system to accommodate special events. The dormitory building also holds a mosque, study hall, student lounge equipped with a recreation center, fitness room, laundry facilities, a commercial kitchen, two kitchenettes, classrooms, meeting rooms, and communal restrooms & showers on all four floors.
AIC’s 1000-seat capacity auditorium has been fully restored with a new ventilation system, mixer & sound system, speakers, lights, projector, and a refurbished stage equipped with a visual supporting back wall. The AIC has also renovated its classrooms to accommodate the needs of its growing student population.
